The I-LAP Summer Internship Programme 2026 is a one-month experiential learning opportunity designed for O Level, A Level, Matric, and Intermediate students. The programme combines classroom training with field visits, community engagement, and practical projects to help young people develop leadership skills, social responsibility, and a commitment to serving their communities.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, interns will gain exposure to diverse social issues while strengthening their communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and ethical decision-making abilities.

Programme Highlights:

Peace and Interfaith Harmony
Participants will explore the principles of peacebuilding, diversity, and conflict resolution through training sessions, interfaith dialogue, and visits to worship places of other faiths. They will also engage with faith leaders and visit Christian settlements, and underserved neighborhoods to foster mutual understanding and respect.

Health and Hygiene
Interns will receive practical training on personal, household, and environmental hygiene, emphasizing healthy habits and community well-being.

Substance Abuse Awareness
The programme will educate participants about the harmful effects of drugs, vaping, and alcohol abuse. Interns will have opportunities to interact with rehabilitation professionals and individuals recovering from addiction to better understand prevention and recovery.

Community Service and Poverty Awareness
Students will visit low-income communities, conduct basic community needs assessments, participate in awareness campaigns on hygiene, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles, distribute educational materials, and contribute to cleanliness and beautification initiatives.

Education and Volunteer Service
Interns will support learning activities through volunteer teaching at the Venus Tuition Centre in Islamabad, a project of I-LAP, assist with book reading and storytelling sessions, and encourage educational development among younger students.

Career and Professional Development
The internship will include sessions focused on career planning, workplace ethics, communication skills, leadership, teamwork, and preparing students for future academic and professional opportunities.
Participants will also receive instruction on:
• Cybersecurity and digital safety
• Safeguarding and personal protection from abuse, exploitation, and harassment
• Responsible use of technology and online platforms

Internship Project
Each participant or team will complete a practical project addressing a community issue or social challenge. The project will encourage research, collaboration, problem-solving, and the application of knowledge gained during the internship.

Building Responsible Future Leaders
The I-LAP Summer Internship Programme seeks to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become compassionate leaders and active citizens. By combining education with meaningful community engagement, the programme inspires participants to promote peace, uphold human dignity, and contribute positively to society.
