Category: Emergency Relief

Since its inception, I-LAP has been committed to serving the stranded and disaster-stricken communities by providing Humanitarian Assistance to victims of various calamities irrespective of their cultural, religious and provincial differences. I-LAP has been offering interventions in collaboration with local government and other national and international organizations. I-LAP has also paid special attention to maintaining gender balance in all its activities so as not to ignore the women who are often left unattended during rescue and relief activities.

Devastating flash floods ravaged northwest Pakistan in August 2010, displacing over twenty million people. The flood destroyed crops, houses, communication lines, roads, and bridges, making access to remote areas even more difficult and causing horrific damage to 25% of the country. It would not be wrong to call it the biggest disaster of human history in which an estimated 1,600 people lost their lives and many others lost their houses, livestock, and livelihood.
